Jack-O-LanternHalloween on Maui

So you've come to Maui for the renowned revelry on the night of October 31st. Welcome! This year you have your choice of many activities. In Lahaina this year, the children's costume parade on Front St. starts at 4:30pm. Restaurants there will offer costume contests throughout the night. This event is what most visitors come for. On this day of the year, a metamorphosis takes place turning the mellow historic Front Street into an electrifying hub of celebration reminiscent of mardi gras. There is no admission charge. Parking is scarce, however, so we recommend staying at one of our West Maui accomodations and taking a quick cab ride to your destination.

This year, many will opt for the festivities in historical Paia town. The Paia Merchant Association is inviting locals and visitors alike to join them for a safe and family oriented night. They will have trick-or-treating from 4-7pm and stores will all be open. There will be lots of entertainment, goodies, and activities for all, including costume contests at Flatbread and Charlie's restaurants. What a great spot to celebrate Halloween!

For the kids there will also be Halloween Fun Night at the Maui Mall where there will be trick-or-treating as well as pet and keiki costume contests. The Lahaina Cannery Mall will also host Halloween Cannery Kid's Night with activities including a halloween magic show, trick-or-treating, face painting, crafts and a keiki costume contest. They will also offer a pineapple decorating contest instead of pumpkin carving.

So as you can see, there's something for everybody at this exciting time of year. Have a great Halloween and be safe!
