Hui Noeau Food and Wine Night

If you haven't heard of the renowned Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center, you must be on vacation! A brief introduction then. Maui is one of the great art centers of the world. People come from countless far reaching places to cultivate their artistic ability on this island, which many agree is an epicenter of inspiration for those who love to create everything from luminous oil paintings to delicate blown glass to earthy ceramic sculpture. Pictured here is an example of the remarkable skill and talent that cultivates on the island. This magnificent watercolor/pastel painting, entitled, "Golden Moment along Olinda Road" was produced by Chelsea Fashsoltz, one of Maui's most up-and-coming, successful young artists. Born and raised on the island of Maui, Chelsea's exquisite talent for capturing Maui's natural majestic beauty has vaulted her work into high demand among locals and visitors. Whether artists wish to dabble with or master their mediums of choice, Maui is widely regarded as the place to do it. As Chelsea aptly explains, "I feel as though I could spend my entire life painting on this single island and not run out of stories to tell..."

You may notice as you visit such destinations as Lahaina, Paia, and Makawao, that galleries dot the streets in great number. There are numerous shows and exhibits all year around on Maui and Hui Noeau lies at the center of this burgeoning art community. People come together for many activities, classes, events, and exhibits of special interest to artists and art enthusiasts. One such event is fast approaching.

On November 21st at 5:30pm, Hui Noeau is hosting a night of wine, food and art in enchanting Wailea. This is the third annual event and will be held at the Diamond Hawaii Resort on the Sunset Lawn. Local chefs will be preparing a fusion of various food types, and renowned vintners from across the country will offer exceptional wine. The main attraction will be the awe inspiring works of art that local artists will show. These will of course be available for purchase.
