Whalers Village Shopping on Maui

Whalers Village is booming with interesting things to do on your West Maui vacation. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the shopping center, it is located in Kaanapali and considered part of the Kaanapali Beach Resort. With over ninety stores and restaurants now, there is plenty of great dining and shopping to be had.
Recently, Whalers Village added five new stores. There is now a Billabong store which offers surf wear, the Totally Hawaiian Gift Gallery which is a local arts and craft store, the Maui Dive and Surf on the Beach activity and equipment center and Swarovski Crystals. Lastly there is a Pacific Treasures Boutique which sells women's clothing, accessories and home decor items.
Also at Whalers Village, there will be a humpback whale outreach program every Friday from 10am to 2pm. Volunteer naturalists from the Hawaiian Island Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary will be there with binoculars and educational materials including whale songs and games. The binoculars will come in handy for observing humpback whale and other marine life behaviors in the waters near shore.
There will also be "45 Ton" lectures including wonderful audio and visuals on humpbacks at the HIHWNMS Education Center at 726 S. Kihei Road in Kihei every Tuesday and Thursday from 11am to noon. The Education Center museum is open daily M-F, from 10 am to 3 pm. If you are interested in more information about them, call 1-800-831-4888.
