Lahaina Maui Commemorative Parade

Kamehameha was Hawaii's first king. Due in no small part to his great strength and tactical military prowess, he was the first to conquer and unite the Hawaiian islands. He died on May 8, 1819 and his body was buried in a secret place which has not been discovered even to this day. There are five Kamehameha statues in existence including two on the Big Island, one in Honolulu, one in Las Vegas and one in the United States Capitol at the National Statuary Hall Collection. He is greatly revered in Hawaiian culture.
