Have Yourself a Maui Christmas

We understand the appeal of snowmen in the front yard, sledding about and having snowball fights. Sounds like great fun! But it comes with the tire chains, the shoveling and sometimes slipping on ice. Then of course there is the extraordinary cold. Call us biased because so many of us fled from such conditions to Maui, but we feel that a Christmas in Hawaii is a Christmas very well spent.
But Maui must be colder in the winter too right? Not so much! You'll still have your 80 degree days, especially at sea level. But the swimming can't be great in winter can it? Yes it can! There are far more calm days than turbulent, especially if you go in the morning. You wouldn't even guess it was winter! The humpback whales love Maui for their winter getaway. In fact, they're some of our most consistent repeat visitors.
If you're not enjoying the spectacular winter whale watching, that spans from December to April and sometimes May, you could be snorkeling, scuba diving, sun bathing, or exploring majestic Haleakala Crater or the vibrant jungles of Hana. The best part of a winter trip to Maui is probably the warmth. Many Maui residents throw on a jacket while upcountry in the evening or early mornings only to be laughed at by friends and family from Wisconsin or New York. What can we say? If the temperature plummets below seventy-two, a lot of us pretty much fall apart.
As this blog is being written, the high for Maui is 82 and the low 70 degrees. Judging by the Maui webcam on our real estate website, the sky is cloudless and the winds light. See for yourself if it all sounds too good to be true.
Hopefully by now, we've got you convinced, but if you are worried about the expense of staying, have a look at our Maui vacation rental specials.
