Spend Your Valentines Day on Maui

Maui Lodging

Where better to spend Valentine's Day with your loved one than Maui? Widely regarded as one of the most romantic places in the world, this little island in the middle of the Pacific is known for it's countless beaches of red, black and white sand as well as its towering dormant volcanoes and verdant tropical jungles. The allure of this natural beauty is hard to capture with words, but believe it or not, even the photos can't do it true justice.

Did you know that Maui is one of the great art capitals of the world? Some of the best painters in this country and abroad came to visit Maui and recognized something special, prompting them to return periodically or make their permanent residence here. The myriad of art galleries you will find all over the island are not always showing the work of far-away artists. In fact, it's totally common to find that the stunning painting that has taken your breath away was produced by an artist who lives on the island. So what is it about Maui that's so captivating?

Your own answer is the best one. You can't fully understand until you've walked beneath the elegant palm trees in the balmy caress of Maui's soft winds, but we can at least hope to give you some idea of what it's like. Obviously, the island is beautiful. The scenery is majestic whether you are looking at views that are subtle or striking. You will find landscapes here like nowhere else in the world. Stoic lava fields, tree-dappled upcountry hills, lush jungle waterfalls and the otherworldly landscape of cinder cones lying nestled in the crater of Haleakala are just a few examples of sights you may see. Let's not forget the ocean. Snorkel in the best places to experience the warm water that nurtures exotic coral reefs teeming with brilliant fish. Snorkel in the winter and you will often hear the haunting songs of the humpback whales.

There are many beautiful places in the world. Travelers, artists, or anyone looking for scenery can be obliged in many places. Why is it that Maui in particular captivates people so profoundly? Aside from the beauty, it's a feeling. That certain something, or je ne sais quoi that artists struggle tirelessly to capture. Those who are too busy minded may miss it if they can't relax enough to take in the sensation of what's around them. Take a minute to soak in the mood that surrounds you, and you may discover Maui.
