Huliau Food & Film Festival on Your Maui Vacation

August tends to be quiet in terms of big Maui events, but there are some delightful smaller ones that keep things fun and interesting. For example, if you're looking for an evening of culinary adventure during your Maui vacation, you might want to get tickets from the Maui Huliau Foundation for their 5th annual farm-to-table celebration of local agriculture. What better way to sample the many delightful flavors that Maui has to offer than with a local community gathering full of food, drink and entertainment?

The festival will feature the culinary creations of local chefs, and as you enjoy those flavors, you'll also get to watch some delightful student-produced films that are based around a food theme to complement the event. Compared with prior years, this celebration is going to be bigger. They've added more chef stations, an expanded bar, and a new silent auction that will be automated through mobile bidding.

The venue will be the Sugar Beach Events oceanfront location in north Kihei, about an hour from our West Maui accommodations. Since it begins at 5:30pm, you should get a nice sunset over the ocean to complement the scenery there. It will take place on Saturday, August 12th, 2017. Tickets are $110 per person, and every penny of the funds raised will benefit Maui Huliau Foundation's environmental education programs for Maui youth, so your evening of enjoyment will go to a good cause. Your ticket will get you a full meal from 11 chef-run appetizer and dessert stations, along with your first drink from the bar.

If you need more details about the venue, you can visit sugarbeacheventshawaii.com. To learn more about the festival and buy tickets, you can visit mauihuliaufoundation.org. If you're figuring out what to do with the rest of your day before the festival begins, you might want to take some time to explore South Maui. There are plenty of beautiful sites along the coast, not to mention 5-star resorts in Wailea, and the full spectrum of shopping in terms of items and prices.

As for your Maui vacation accommodations, we can help you there. If you need our assistance, you'll find our contact information at the bottom of the page. Otherwise, if you're browsing for a place you'd like to stay, we offer many condos and several homes to choose from. Mahalo!
