16th Annual Art of Aloha at Lahaina Galleries

Do you have a passion for art? If you're on vacation to Maui and you'll be free on Sunday, March 4th, you won't want to miss the 16th Annual "Art of Aloha" event at Lahaina Galleries. It's a rare opportunity to meet a collection of talented artists from around the world and see their wonderful work during your stay on Maui. To top it off, it's in a great location too.

Lahaina Galleries can be found in historic Lahaina Town at 736 Front Street, where you'll find shops, restaurants, museums, and the scenic Lahaina Harbor, all running along the sparkling blue Pacific Ocean. It's a fun place to explore, even if you're not big on art, but if you are, then you might be surprised to learn that Lahaina Town has more art galleries per capita than any other town in the nation. It's the ultimate location for an art crawl, and this event would be a perfect stop to include in just such an adventure.

This year's Art of Aloha will include the following talented artists:

  • Alexei Butirskiy (Russia/Arizona) realism - urban landscapes and cityscapes
  • Guy Buffet (France/California) whimsical humorist – figurative, landscapes and Hawaiiana
  • Ronaldo Macedo (Brazil/Hawaii) impressionism – Hawaiian seascapes and landscapes
  • Steve Matson (California) Oscar - winner for special effects, creator of “moving paintings”
  • Robert Lyn Nelson (Hawaii) - modern marine artist, abstract painter and conservationist
  • Roy Tabora (Hawaii) romantic realism - Hawaiian seascapes
  • Michael Talbot (England) - figurative bronze sculptures
  • Steve Turnbull (Hawaii) - free-flowing wood, stone and bronze sculptures
  • Caroline Zimmermann (California/Italy) impressionism – tropical seascapes and Tuscan vineyards

If you attend, you can wander through this charming gallery and find the works that speak to you. If you're so inclined, you might strike up a conversation with one of the artists whose work is the most appealing to your tastes. Who knows, you might even commemorate your trip to Maui with an original piece of artwork from an artist that you had a chance to get to know.

As the event starts at 11am and ends at 3pm, you'll have room for morning and evening plans. You could spend your morning at the beach, or lounging poolside at one of our West Maui vacation rentals before making your way to Lahaina Galleries. After the event, you might wish to have a nice dinner at one of the many delightful restaurants on Front Street, some of which are just steps away from the gallery.

For more information on this year's Art of Aloha event, you can visit www.lahainagalleries.com. If you're still choosing your Maui vacation rental accommodations, we hope you'll find something ideal as you browse through our available homes and condos.
