Once you have your family vacation rental squared away, then it’s time to start planning your Maui travel itinerary. If you’re going to be visiting in April, then make sure to add the Color Festival Hawaii to your list of things to do in Maui. This event is going to be exciting, fun and will appeal to every member of the family.

The Color Festival kicks off at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center on April 13th with live music by DJs near and far including DJ Boomshot, Shea Butter & Cream, Yum Yum Beast, and Rayland Baxter of Nashville, Tennessee before the throwing of colors.

As a modern American take on the Indian Holi Festival, the Color Festival Hawaii is inspired by a long-standing tradition that celebrates spring, and the conquering of good over evil through the throwing colored powders on friends and family which gives the holiday its name- The Festival of Colors. The message is of unity, love, and happiness and what a fun way to spend a day on Maui! The local nonprofit Imua Family Services is bringing the Color Festival Hawaii to Maui as a friend-raiser, a family-friendly gathering, and a place for all children to be included.

Event Sponsors include SongDivision, Alaska Airlines, Maui Jim Sunglasses, MauiNOW, PMG, & FHB. Guests should be advised to wear white and know that color paks and souvenir event T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event. And don’t worry! The powder is colored cornstarch and won’t hurt. But make sure to bring either a plastic bag or towel to cover your car seat after the event.

Tickets are currently on sale for $20 and will increase the day of the show. Keiki tickets are on sale for $15 and are available for ages 6 through 16. Kids 5 and under are free.

We hope you enjoyed learning about the Maui Color Festival and consider joining the fun this year. Don’t have accommodation yet? Contact us today and we’ll find you the best hotel resort condo rental or Maui vacation home that best fits your needs.  Aloha!
